Type Locality and Naming
Along the Belyar kol, Kugitangtau ridge, T.N. Bogdanova, 1986 (452, p.305). Stratotype on the western wing of the Kugitang anticline, 3 km to the northwest of the Kugitang settlement, 3 km to the southeast of the Belyar kol. Lithology and Thickness
Massive, cross-bedded, coarse-grained sandstones with layers of conglomerates, siltstone (aleurolites), and clays, with limestone layers in the upper part. Thickness 35-75m
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies with erosion on the Kaligrek Fm
Upper contact
Schematic stratigraphic column indicates the upper contact as Kulkamysh Fm
Regional extent
Southwest Gissar. The upper part of the formation, probably, is analogous to the Kulkamysh Fm

Contains ammonites - Acanthohoplites ex gr. nolani Seun., A. bigoureti Seun., A. lorioli Sinz.; marine bivalve mollusks - Actostreon latissimum (Lam.), Liostrea leymerii Desh. and others.
